The Coronavirus was first identified in China in December which effected public health, business and travel sectors across China. Later, the effect of coronavirus had taken place in other countries and effected their business and markets too. This virus is contagious which is effected the daily routine of the people. Apart from these industries, the entertainment industry has faced millions of loss when it has effected in other parts of the world like the USA, Italy, India and so on.
The immense and profitable Hollywood and Bollywood industry has hit very badly that the movie theatres across the country were closed and major movies like Sooryavanshi, Peter the Rabbit 2, No Time to Die release dates are pushed ahead. As time passes the effect of coronavirus has spread and it is emerging as menacing for the people.
Coronavirus Effect on Entertainment
Prior to the arrival of coronavirus, the film was doing business in crores. After the consequences, if the pandemic on the film industry it has lowered the attendance public in film festivals or in theatres across the country. Financial ramifications are likely to felt by studios, filmmakers, theatres owners for a month or for even years.
Apart from Hollywood movies, some of the Bollywood movies will get affected by the market slowdown. If the situation remains the same then it will affect the upcoming movies like Kunal Khemu’s Lootcase, Ranveer Singh’s 83, Varun Dhawan’s Coolie no.1, Amitabh Bachan’s Jhund, Vidya Balan’s Shakuntala Devi and few Akshay Kumar movies Sooryavanshi and Laxmmi Bomb.
Movies delayed due to Coronavirus
No Time to Die: On 16 February MGM has announced the movie will get cancelled and will be hit on the screens on November. No time to die box office collection will get effected but MGM takes no chance to release as the release is extended to 7 months.
Peter the Rabbit 2: On March 10, Sony announced the Peter the rabbit 2 movies will release in between April to August. Peter the rabbit 2 box office collection will be impacted with the coronavirus or after the movie release.
Fast & Furious 9: On March 12, Universal Pictures announced Fast & Furious 9 movie will delay due to the effect of coronavirus and it will release its ninth instalment by the next year on April 2021 or May 2021. Universal Pictures takes zero risks on the release of the movie as it will severely affect the box office collection.
