The vehicle owners are required to pay vahan tax under Rajasthan Vehicle Taxation Act 1951. The following are the details and tax rate of Rajasthan road tax.

Road tax in Rajasthan is calculated under the provision of Rajasthan Vehicle Taxation Act 1951. The vehicle tax in Rajasthan is calculated on the basis of vehicle age, seating capacity, engine capacity, price, manufacture etc.

Rajasthan Road Tax for Two Wheeler

The road tax for a two-wheeler in Rajasthan is computed on the basis of CC The vehicle tax rates are as follows:

Above 500 CC 10% of the vehicle price
Between 200CC to 500CC 8% of the vehicle price
Between 125CC to 200CC 6% of the vehicle price
Up to 125 CC 4% of the vehicle price

Rajasthan Road Tax on Three Wheelers

The road tax for three-wheeler is based on the price of the vehicle The road tax are as follows:

Price of the vehicle is up to Rs. 1.5 lakh 3% of the cost of the vehicle
Price of the chassis is up to Rs. 1.5 lakh 3.75% of the cost of the vehicle
Price of the vehicle is above Rs. 1.5 lakh 4% of the cost of the vehicle
Price of the chassis above Rs. 1.5 lakh 5% of the cost of the vehicle

Rajasthan Road Tax on Four Wheelers

The road tax for four-wheeler is computed on the basis of price, engine capacity, model, manufacture, seating capacity etc. The tax rates for four-wheelers are as follows

Trailer or sidecar vehicles 0.3% of the vehicle tax
Price of the vehicle above Rs. 6 lakh 8% of the price of the vehicle
Price of the vehicle between Rs. 3 lakh to 6 lakh 6% of the price of the vehicle
Price of the vehicle up to Rs.3 lakh 4% of the price of the vehicle

Road Tax on Other Vehicles in Rajasthan

The Vahan tax in Rajasthan is computed on the basis of various aspects mentioned below The vehicle tax is as follows:

Construction equipment vehicles excluding the harvester which has purchased as an entire body 6% of the actual cost of the vehicle
Construction equipment vehicles excluding the harvester which has purchased as a Chassis 7.5% of the actual cost of the vehicle
Cranes purchased as an entire body and vehicles fitted with types of equipment like fork-lifts 8% of the actual cost of the vehicle
Cranes purchased as chassis and vehicles fitted with equipment like fork-lifts 10% of the actual cost of the vehicle
Camper van purchased as an entire body 7.5 % of the actual cost of the vehicle
Camper van bought as a chassis 10%of the actual cost of the vehicle

How to Pay Road Tax in Rajasthan?

A vehicle owner can visit the nearest RTO (Regional Transport Office) and fill the form and submit the form along with the important documents. Once you are done with the form and documents you can pay the RTO tax. After paying road tax you can take the receipt from the RTO office, keep the receipt for the future references.
